Meet Our Team
João Eduardo de Villemor Amaral is a strategic leader with extensive experience in sustainability and ESG, working on global impact projects aimed at contributing to sustainable economic development worldwide. Since October 2021, he has chaired the ESG Council of the Fórum Brasil Export and leads the sustainability vertical at ABFINTECHS – Brazilian Fintech Association, helping integrate sustainable practices in the financial and logistics sectors.
He is a co-founder of Sustainable Ventures, an initiative created in Portugal focused on the strategic development and execution of sustainability projects for European and Brazilian markets, promoting innovative solutions for environmental and social challenges.

Until June 2023, João served as Executive Director of Voice of the Oceans, a global initiative led by the Schurmann Family in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In this role, he coordinated actions to combat plastic pollution in the oceans, establishing the initiative as an international benchmark in environmental preservation.
João also works as a Circle Economy Associate for Brazil, Latin America, and Portugal, contributing to the transition toward a circular economy in various regions. His career reflects a continuous commitment to sustainability, innovation, and environmental, social, and corporate governance.

Rebecca Alonso Nascimento is a specialist in Sustainability and ESG, with strong experience in Corporate Governance and contracts. Currently, she leads governance initiatives as Head of Governance at Sustainable Ventures Portugal, driving strategic projects focused on sustainable development for the European and Brazilian markets. Rebecca is also co-organizer of the current edition of Sustainable Leadership, promoted by Nova School of Business and Economics in Portugal, strengthening her role in promoting responsible leadership and sustainable business practices.
Additionally, Rebecca serves as Corporate Governance Secretary of the ESG Council at Fórum Brasil Export, contributing to the integration of ESG criteria into business strategies. Her career includes significant contributions to projects such as Voice of the Oceans, a global initiative supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), where she played an important role in combating ocean plastic pollution.
Rebecca has broad corporate experience, having worked at companies like Central Nacional Unimed and São Paulo Turismo, developing strategic skills in business management and governance. She is also a partner at the law firm J Amaral Advogados, applying her legal expertise to handle complex demands.
Graduated in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, Rebecca holds a postgraduate degree in corporate law from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and specializes in contracts, business law, and corporate governance.
Nathalie Sposito Couto has over 10 years of experience in strategic roles at major multinational and national companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Michael Page, Apex-Brasil, and São Paulo Turismo S.A. Her career highlights include project management, business and legal intelligence for solving complex demands, as well as strong expertise in corporate governance, compliance, and leading multidisciplinary teams coordinated by C-Level executives.
Currently, Nathalie is the Head of Finance and Administration at Sustainable Ventures Portugal, an initiative focused on the strategic development and execution of sustainability projects for the European and Brazilian markets. She also co-organizes editions of Sustainable Leadership, promoted by Nova School of Business and Economics in Portugal, reinforcing her role in spreading sustainable practices and responsible leadership.

In the past two years, Nathalie served as General Coordinator for administration and finance at Voice of the Oceans, a global initiative led by the Schurmann Family and supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In this project, she stood out for her work on environmental preservation and combating ocean plastic pollution, aligning her efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Graduated in Law from UNIP – Universidade Paulista, Nathalie is also a lawyer and partner at the law firm J Amaral Advogados, specializing in legal and business services. Her experience combines sustainability, corporate governance, and strategic legal solutions.
